Terms of service
The agreement between you and Menuklaar, in plain words.
Last updated: 1 October 2026
Draft: a lawyer checks these terms before Menuklaar launches. Details in square brackets are filled in then.
The service
Menuklaar is provided by [Company name B.V.] (“we”). It lets restaurants, cafés, bars and other venues keep one menu and publish it as a QR menu, on their own website and as a print menu.
Menuklaar is for businesses. By creating an account, you confirm that you use it for your business and may accept these terms on its behalf.
Your account and the extra login
You sign up with an email address and password, or with Google. Keep your login details to yourself: you're responsible for what happens in your account.
Pro includes one extra login, for example for a manager or a chef. The person who created the account is the owner and can do everything. The extra login can do everything except billing and deleting the account. The owner decides who gets it. On Free, an extra login that already exists stays, but can only look.
The free trial
A new account gets 14 days of Pro for free, without a card. When the trial ends, your account moves to Free unless you choose Pro. You're never charged unless you upgrade yourself.
Subscriptions, prices and VAT
- Pro costs the price on our pricing page, per month or per year, excluding VAT: a base price that includes one venue, plus a price for each extra venue.
- When you add a venue, you pay for the rest of the running period on your next invoice. When you remove one, the unused part is credited on your next invoice.
- You pay in advance for each period through Stripe, by card or by iDEAL (set up as a SEPA Direct Debit mandate).
- Your subscription renews automatically each period until you cancel.
- VAT is added as the law requires, based on your country and VAT number. Stripe sends the invoices.
- We may change our prices. We tell you at least 30 days before, and a new price applies from your next period.
Cancelling and moving to Free
You can cancel any time in Settings, under Plan and billing. Pro keeps running until the end of the period you paid for. Cancelling doesn't refund the rest of that period.
When Pro ends, your account moves to Free. Nothing is deleted, but:
- only your first venue stays published; the others become read-only and their menu page says the menu is unavailable
- your menu shows only its main language; translations are kept
- the print menu PDF is switched off
- the website embed shows a “View our menu” link instead of the full menu
- the “Powered by Menuklaar” line comes back
Choosing Pro again brings everything back.
Acceptable use
Use Menuklaar for the real menus of your own venues. Please don't:
- publish anything unlawful or misleading, or anything that infringes someone else's rights
- upload malware, or try to break into, overload or scrape Menuklaar
- resell Menuklaar or use it to build a competing service
If you break these rules, we may suspend or close your account. Where we can, we warn you first.
Your content
Your menus, photos, logo and other content stay yours. You give us permission to store, process, translate and show them, only as far as needed to run Menuklaar for you: on your public menu page, on your website and in your PDFs. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
You're responsible for your menu, including prices and allergen information. Automatic translations and the allergens suggested during an import are a help, not a guarantee: check them before they go live. Your guests rely on your allergen information.
Availability
We work hard to keep Menuklaar online and fast, but we can't promise it never goes down. We may do maintenance, and we may improve or change features. If we remove something important that you pay for, we tell you in advance.
Liability
As far as the law allows:
- we're not liable for indirect damage, such as lost profit or lost revenue
- our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the damage
- we're not liable for mistakes in your menu, such as prices, allergens or translations, that you could have checked
These limits don't apply to damage caused by our intent or deliberate recklessness.
Personal data
How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy.
Ending the agreement
You can delete your account any time in Settings, which ends the agreement. We may end it with 30 days' notice, or right away if you seriously break these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For important changes, we email the account owner at least 30 days before they apply. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then.
Law and disputes
Dutch law applies to these terms. Disputes go to the competent court in [court], the Netherlands.
